We have partnered with Jason Ford, illustrator of the bestselling children’s activity book, The Super Book for Superheroes, to give children and their families the opportunity to nominate their favourite essential worker to be illustrated as a superhero. Find out below how you can take part in our competition.
We've been so moved by the incredible work that people in the frontline services have been putting in. As a way of showing our appreciation for their personal effort and sacrifice, we wanted to offer something in return. We approached one of our long-standing authors and illustrators and asked him to donate some of his time and a lot of his talent.
We're asking families to nominate an essential worker who they admire or are close to be illustrated by Jason Ford in his classic superhero style. Five of the nominated essential workers will be chosen by Jason to receive a bespoke superhero portrait as well as an LKP voucher worth of $50. The competition will run across LKP’s and Jason Ford’s social media accounts.
'I decided to take part in this campaign so that I can show, in my way, the appreciation and gratitude that I, and I’m sure the whole country, feel towards the people that are working hard and risking their own lives to save ours' - Jason Ford
Parents and children can nominate their essential workers by emailing marketing@laurenceking.com explaining the reason behind their nomination along with an image of their chosen person. The competition will run from 29th April to 8th May and we will be announcing the winning entries on 11th May. Please see here for detailed T&Cs.
We look forward to seeing your entries and don't forget to use #KeyWorkerSuperhero when submitting them. Thank you for taking part and good luck!
